The National Government approved the list of Argentine companies authorized to access the cannual tariff rate for tobacco destined for the United States of America, corresponding to the period included between September 13, 2025, and September 12, 2026.

This is what was arranged by the Resolution 200 / 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, published this Monday (10/13/2025) in the Official Gazette, whose text details the authorized signatures within the framework of the preferential export regime in force with the North American country.

A quota of 10.750 tons with tariff benefits

The document explains that the quota, which amounts to 10.750 tons per year, was granted to Argentina under the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the United States on August 9, 1995 in Geneva, as a result of the Uruguay Round of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).

Within this framework, the measure seeks to guarantee the continuity of the preferential export regime established in this bilateral agreement, in force until September 12, 2026, as provided for in Resolution No. 6/2023.

The qualified companies for the 2025-2026 business cycle are as follows:

  • Jujuy Tobacco Growers Cooperative Ltd. (CUIT 30-69331273-2)
  • Bonpland Leaf SA (CUIT 30-51141558-2)
  • Comercial Industrial Misionera Argentina SA (CUIT 30-60757294-8)
  • CTM Agroindustrial Cooperative of Misiones Ltda. (CUIT 30-54838738-4)
  • Salta Tobacco Producers Cooperative Ltda.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, these companies met all the requirements established in the current resolutions for registration in the Registry of Tobacco Exporters and the allocation of tariff quotas.

The Ministry of Agriculture indicated that the measure is of immediate application.
