Panama presented its Strategic Vision for Infrastructure and Connectivity during the Workshop to Disseminate the Regional Master Plan for Mobility and Logistics 2035, Organized by the Ministry of Public Works with support from JICA and SIECA. This workshop has previously been held in El Salvador and Guatemala, and has now arrived in Panama to continue the implementation of the Master Plan in the region.

According to SIECA, the Minister of Public Works of Panama, José Luis Andrade, highlighted "The importance of implementing joint projects with neighboring countries and the Central American region to boost trade and investment, both within the regional market and with key partners such as the United States, the European Union, and Asia."He also mentioned initiatives supported by resources from strategic partners such as the IDB, the Spain-SICA Fund, the European Union, and JICA.

Amongst the key projects presented, the highlights are Customs Logistics Integration Program (STACK), which seeks to streamline cross-border trade by digitizing processes and optimizing border crossing controls, reducing wait times and operating costs. In addition, SIECA presented projects under construction, such as the expansion of the Beach Corridor and the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, and eight road projects under tender that include public-private partnerships.

The event included a discussion on the benefits of the Master Plan for the region and a working session to review the plan's Roadmap in Panama, advancing the modernization of the country's infrastructure in line with the objectives of SICA's 2035 Regional Mobility and Logistics Master Plan.

It is recalled that the Central American Integration System (SICA) approved the Regional Framework Policy on Mobility and Logistics in 2017, with the aim of harmonizing, systematizing, and unifying the six Central American countries in terms of mobility and logistics.
