The National Customs Service of Chile seized three trucks, a bus and a motorcycle in the town of Pisiga Shock, commune of Colchane (border with Bolivia), reported this Sunday (17.09.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) from the neighboring country.
The vehicles were without the corresponding documents and preparing to leave through unauthorized crossings towards Bolivia.
The inspectors, acting on a broad warrant for entry and search, arrived at the border town and caught drivers and porters red-handed preparing the vehicles to take them out of the country. Upon checking the documents, it was established that the goods were in the name of front men, so the vehicles were taken to the border complex in Colchane.
The seized vehicles are a Hino Dutro truck, 2008 model, a Honda motorcycle from 2003, a Nissan Condor truck, 2008 model, a Nissan Atlas truck and a Nissan Cibilian bus, 200 model.6, with capacity for 29 people.
Three men and one woman, all of Bolivian nationality, were charged with the crime of smuggling and the goods were seized and placed at the disposal of the National Customs Service. The value of the goods was set at US$35 thousand.
