VAT: new extension to apply SIRE

-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) has again extended the deadline for the mandatory application of the Comprehensive Electronic Withholding System (SIRE) so that the withholding and/or collection agents of the Value Added Tax (VAT) can report and enter the withholdings and collections made, by issuing the General Resolution 4.798/2020.

The regulations, published this Thursday (27.08.2020) in the Official Gazette, extended the term until December 1th 2020.

SIRE is a system for withholding and/or collection agents of the social security, VAT and income tax regimes to report on operations and issue the corresponding certificates.

This system determines that issuers of collection/retention certificates will be obliged to make these documents available to their clients/suppliers (receiving companies).
