On the occasion of International Women's Day 2025, celebrated annually on March 8, the International Association of Professional Customs Agents (ASAPRA) reiterates its commitment to gender equality in the customs sector and foreign trade, promoting concrete actions to strengthen equity and increase female representation in this activity.
A more equitable and inclusive sector
With a presence in 25 countries on several continents, ASAPRA represents national associations of customs agents and actively works to consolidate a more inclusive environment, based on the principles of ethics, transparency and gender equality.
As part of its commitment, the association encourages its members to demonstrate on this date together with their local associations and to use traditional and digital media to raise awareness of the fundamental role of women in the customs sector.
A commitment aligned with international standards
Through its Declaration of Commitment to Gender Equality and Inclusion in the Customs Sector, ASAPRA establishes guidelines aligned with international regulatory frameworks such as:
- Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)
Concrete actions for change
