The Ministry of Industry and Commerce published the Resolution 513/2025, which defines the distribution of quotas for importing vehicles —including electric vehicles— under Decree 49/2025, which set in “zero percent (0%)” the tariff for units up to “USD 16.000”.
The allocation was made following the open call in October, applying the official criteria that prioritize “the price in dollars” and, in case of a tie, “the estimated month of nationalization”Based on the technical report prepared by the Automotive Policy Directorate, the Secretariat organized the distribution in different annexes.
Five annexes: quotas, remaining funds, and priority orders
Resolution 513/2025 assigns the quota 2026 between Category A (automotive terminals or importers with local production) and Category B (importers without production in Argentina) (Annexes I and II); reassign the remaining 2025 among those who participated in the sub-call (Annex III)and establishes two orders of precedence —one for 2025 and another for 2026— for eligible applications that did not receive quotas or received fewer units due to lack of availability (Annexes IV and V).
Finally, it notifies all the companies included and informs them that they can file the corresponding administrative appeals within the established deadlines.
It is suggested to read the full details of the regulation to know the exact distribution of quotas and the priority lists included in the annexes..
As part of the official statement, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce also disseminated the List of models assigned to importers and terminals for the 2026 quotaThe complete list is reproduced below:
